Test Pointers for NCAE 2011

The National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) on September 28, 2011 is a tool to help third year high school students to choose the right college program for them. A DepEd memo last July 15 announced that instead of administering it to the fourth year students, NCAE will be administered to third year high school students and to fourth year  high school students who will avail scholarship grants from TESDA and CHED.

Get ready to take the exam.  Preparation for a test should start even before the day of the actual test.

  • Few weeks before the actual tests, read notes. If you can do one, make your own reviewer. Find out what will be the coverage of the exams. Focus on these topics.
  • Days before the test, prepare the things you need to bring.
  • A day before the exam, stop reviewing. Rest your mind and your body. Sleep early.
  • Go to the testing center early so you can make yourself comfortable.
  • While taking the exam, make sure your desk is free from any clutter. Keep the test papers, answer sheets, and pencil on the desk. Put everything under your desk.
  • Read the directions carefully. IT IS A MUST.
  • Read the test items carefully. If you think an item is very difficult, skip and go to the next question. Do not dwell too much on one item. Go back to the items you skipped after answering all the items you think are easy or average.
  • Once you are through with the test, submit your papers to the teacher and leave the room quietly.
Do you have anything else in mind? What will you do to prepare for NCAE 2011?
