2012 Philippines Holidays

It has been a month since President Benigno Aquino proclaimed the holidays for 2012 through Presidential Proclamation No. 295. These dates are the nationally recognized regular and special days. There are also non-working and working holidays that are decided by the local officials  There will be days that are called a "sandwich" day because it is a day between two non-working days or a non-working day and a weekend. In these cases, the government usually move the day to either on the nearest Monday of that day have a longer weekend for family to enjoy and celebrate the famous people and events as reasons for the holidays.

Take note of these holidays!!!

C. Special Holiday (for all schools)
EDSA Revolution Anniversary
February 25 (Saturday)

Aside from the EDSA Revolution Anniversary, there is also the yearly Palarong Pambansa held in a specific a city or province in the country. Usually, weeks before this national sport event, some municipalities and cities hold their local sports competition on various events to pick their representatives. Every city or province hopes for a brighter future for their athletes to become famous volleyball players or popular sepak takraw players.

If the birth and death of heroes like Rizal and Bonifacio are being commemorated every year, I just hope that the important days on the lives of the famous women in history should also be remembered the same. Well, I am not asking for a celebration similar to how the famous native american celebrities remember the important dates in their lives.
